A quieter phone.
A conversation away.

PeterOS is an open-source Android project built around Peter, a personal AI assistant designed to run on your phone.

Design stage · Apache 2.0 · No downloadable build yet

Why PeterOS

Start with a conversation

A chat launcher with text input, voice, and slash commands instead of an app grid.

AI that stays on the phone

Local wake word, speech recognition, one assistant model and speech output, with no cloud AI fallback.

Everyday actions, simply

Open apps, call contacts, draft messages, set alarms and adjust supported settings.

You stay in control

Review messages before sending, see when the microphone is on, and inspect an on-device log.

Minimal by design

Essential phone apps, a monochrome interface, no ads, no subscriptions, no camera in Peter.

Built for modest hardware

Simple commands run without a language model; heavier AI loads only when needed.

Honest status

PeterOS is in planning and design. Features and performance figures are goals to implement and validate. The first proposed device is the Poco M4 5G with 6 GB RAM, and compatibility still needs verification.
